We were on a mission, Operation move to Cali. However, amidst the long drive we heard good news! There was a chance to get some spring skiing in. Say no more! We have a new goal and it’s in Colorado. We changed our course to Denver. We weren’t sure where or if there’d be snow. We followed some random signs that looked good. After a few turns and one long detour, jackpot! It’s SNOWINGGGGG! ☃️
It started to get dark fast and the roads were a bit slippery. We pressed on hoping to find a hotel. We went through Loveland Pass and ended up in Dillon, Co. Finally, a place to rest and spend the night. 😴
The next morning we couldn’t believe where we ended up. This was it! A snow town with ski resorts, filled with great eats, outlets, and snow gear galore! Plus, it’s April! Think of all the sales we hit. We decided to make our first day a shopping and rest break.
The next morning we were up and ready to give one of them a try! With no real reason, we decided Arapahoe Basin would be the one. It was a great pick, too. It had all the pros of a big mountain with a more local vibe. Shockingly, with all the amazing & glorious spring skiing it somehow wasn’t packed! Rentals and ticketing were very fast. We never waited more than 2 minutes for a lift. But the trails… Oh my! They were wide-open, long, and absolutely gorgeous. This was our first time on a “big mountain.” Our lack of experience kept us on the easier trails. Which we were thrilled with. We can only imagine having the skill to enjoy A-Basin to its fullest.
Without a doubt Arapahoe Basin gets 5 out of 5 snowflakes ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️. We got food and drinks on the mountain and grabbed snacks at the base. We were always able to find seating and had fast service. Parking was a quick walk and extremely close. The staff was super friendly and overall great vibes. This was an amazing find.
We didn’t take to many pics we were immersed in our adventure!
We’re flying out of here! But what a great visit! Hope to see you again CO!
