This Christmas Pie Crust was just a little bit of decorating fun. I took some quick pics as it was coming together and thought I’d share. I always have fun playing with the decorating part. My sister teases me because I like to decorate my pot pies, too. 😂
Hope you enjoy seeing this Christmas Pie Crust come together!
I used a mini leaf cookie cutter and the back of one of my frosting tips for the shapes on top. I added some dye to accent the cutout. This is going to be a minced meat pie. 🙂I started with cutting out two different sized strips of dough and worked them in a basket pattern. Once the pattern is done, I push the edges into the side of the dish, trim off the extra dough, and roll down the edges. The extra dough I added the food dye, rolled it out and created my topping shapes. I added a dab of water to the back to help hold the cutouts in place. Now it’s time to bake! It came out really cute. 😍 It didn’t brown up the way I was hoping, but I did test this out in my toaster oven. It’s the holiday and my oven had the turkey in it. 🙂 Hope you are enjoying the holiday season! Merry Christmas! 🎅
