I usually make a seasonal wreath to dress up the front door. It always makes it so much more inviting. But, a living wreath? That’s just a whole different level- LOL
I just came back from Michaels with my spring time selection in hand. After 20 minutes (and for less than $20) I was placing my little creation on our front door.
Within 2 days a new addition appeared perfectly cradled in the middle. A little nest! The next morning on my way out a startled little bird took off! Quicker than I could see, but indeed she had made her home. When I got back I carefully transferred the wreath to the window and added some extra support.
I didn’t see her return and was hoping I didn’t disturb her hard work. A couple days later there was 3 little eggs and 1 more the next day. Definitely, robin blue eggs.
Now, little Robbie is back and happily nested. Now that she’s added her basket weaving art and included my flowers, I think she’s made it look better! 🐦
For me this is pretty awesome. I have volunteered in bird rescue and rehabilitation and love the spring; all the chicks pop up. I’ll have to check back and share some pics when the babies have hatched. 🐣 For now I try not to disturb her and use the side door when possible. Placing the wreath on the window has allowed me to spy from the inside without disturbing.
