Spring has sprung and I’m adding some special touches around the home. This oil diffuser gives a subtle scent as the oil slowly evaporates off the water. It can be a great accent for the home, office, and makes a pretty gift (think Mother’s Day, teacher appreciation, etc.). The oil diffuser is made with foam florals. Because the flowers are a foam material they work great with the oil and water combination. They won’t become saturated. I made one for my living room and office. The rooms smelled fresh and inviting without being overwhelming. You can assemble this in minutes and add a fresh touch of spring wherever you like. 🌼
- Glass gems
- Foam florals
- Scented oil
Here’s how to assemble.
- The most important part is using the right flowers. Make sure you use the foam florals. I found these at Michaels. They are sold in clusters and they had several types of flowers, colors, and sizes. Also, the stems are plastic (like a straw).
- Simply fill your vase with the glass gems. Cut your florals and arrange how you like.
- Fill your vase about halfway with water and add a layer of your favorite oil. It should float to the top. (I forgot to take a pic. I bought my oils off of Amazon).
That’s it. Over time the oil evaporates and lightly scents your space.

**UPDATE: I’ve had this setup for at least 3 months now. I’ve added a small about of oil to refresh and it’s still doing great! They flowers and stems have not discolored or absorbed any of the liquid. You can always smell it when you walk by and the one in my office has continued to fill the room with a fresh scent. I combine mint & lemon for my office. It’s one of my favorite combinations so far!
