It’s day 8 on our South American Norwegian Cruise. We set sail in Valparaiso, Chile and we have made it to our halfway point, Ushuaia! After a very fun and adventurous visit with the penguins yesterday we decided to skip on an excursion. We enjoyed some extra 😴 💤’s Then headed out for a leisure stroll of the city. Even though the weather was overcast the ran held off. Ushuaia had snow covered mountains all around and with a slight incline you could see beautiful views of the bay. This was a wonderful port to enjoy some specialty treats. However, the shopping was geared to outdoor and extreme weather sports. Mainly because Ushuaia is not only known as the “the city at world’s end” it’s also known as the gateway to Antarctica. There were several people from all over the world to head down to ice. Everyone was very friendly and pointed us in the right direction for some delish lunch. If you love seafood and especially crab that is definitely what everyone said you must try! I love crab so you don’t have to twist my arm, but this was by far the best! My Hubbie who is not a fan even had a try and after that I had to give him the evil eye so he knew it wasn’t for sharing 😉 (jk)
After enjoying some local brews and wonderful food it was time to walk it off. We got in some souvienr shopping, enjoyed a few more views and worked our way back to the ship.
A view from the pier and some blue skies peaking out.
You may have heard there is a wrong way to sail around Cape Horn? Luckily for us we are heading in the right direction! Looks like we are crossing into Atlantic waters and working our way to Falkland Island next!
